a) Situación: Se encuentra en le extremo este del departamento en el territorio de la Chiquitania colindante con la República del Brasil.

b) Límites:
Al norte con la República Federativa del Brasil.
Al sur con las provincias Germán Busch y Chiquitos
Al este con la República Federativa del Brasil
Al oeste con las provincias Velasco y Chiquitos.

c) Superficie: 37.442 km2 ocupa el 10.1% del total de la superficie del
departamento.

d) Altura: 118 m.s.n.m.

e) Población: 13.073 habitantes (censo 2001). Es la provincia con menor población del departamento.

f) Densidad: 2.17 habitantes por km2

g) División Política.
Esta provincia cuenta con una sección municipal y cantones.
